The cream of the British animation industry will be showcasing their works at the annual British Animation Showcase at the Barbican on November 1st 2012.

Part of the London International Animation Festival, the event presents animation buffs with the rare opportunity to see some cutting-edge short films on the big screen, giving them an insight into the current state of the art form.

The films vary greatly in style, genre and tone, with short, surrealist comedies sharing the screen with thought-provoking social commentaries and dark fables.

After the screenings, there will also be a chance to meet many of the animators and hear about their inspirations for the films, while they will also be fielding questions from audience members.

Luxury London hotel guests can get more from their stay by booking the Theatreland package at The Montague on the Gardens Hotel, which includes two tickets to one of a number of West End shows.

These include smash hits such as Les Miserables, We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia!, The Phantom of the Opera and Priscilla: Queen of the Desert.
