Unexpected Item at The People's Supermarket

  • Category: Music & Theatre
  • Dates: Saturday, 13 October 2012 to Sunday, 14 October 2012

A cutting-edge and thought-provoking theatre performance called Unexpected Item will be held at the community-run People's Supermarket this October.

Innovative theatre company UndertheBed will be performing this work in progress on October 13th and 14th, as part of the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award finalists' showcase.

It takes audiences on an all-singing, all-dancing shopping trip that examines the pivotal role supermarkets now play in our day-to-day lives and casts a critical eye over moral issues surrounding our modern consumer culture.

This challenging show will pose questions about the ethical dubiousness of many products we use every day, while showcasing refreshing ideas from a new generation of artists in the process.

People staying at The Montague on the Gardens Hotel with a love of the performing arts should consider booking the Theatreland package, which comes with two tickets to a number of popular shows.

It means that luxury London hotel guests can spend a night out watching productions such as Les Miserables, We Will Rock You, Billy Elliot and Mamma Mia!, while enjoying a pre-show three-course dinner.
