Category: Art & Culture Dates: Tuesday, 26 March 2013 to Sunday, 28 July 2013 The Surgeon and the Photographer, an innovative and striking art exhibition by Geoffrey Farmer, is coming to the Barbican on March 26th 2013. Developed over a period of three years, the show is being displayed for the first time in its completed form this year and comprises hundreds of puppet-like figures created from images cut from old books and magazines mounted on to fabric forms. The work takes inspiration from the collage and assemblage traditions of Hannah Hoch and Robert Rauschenberg and the animist outlook of certain Pacific Northwest Coast cultures, with a newly commissioned film accompanying the exhibition. Luxury London hotel guests who wish to see the show can do so until July 28th 2013, with admission being free for all. A number of packages are available at the nearby Montague at the Gardens Hotel that could appeal to those visiting the capital this spring, including the Night to Remember deal. This includes a number of extras to make your trip a memorable one, such as a bottle of Champagne, a romantic candlelit dinner for two and a copy of Bea Tollman's A Life In Food cookbook.
