Category: Art & Culture Dates: Thursday, 07 February 2013 to Monday, 27 May 2013 A showcase of the works of the innovative artist Man Ray will be held at the National Portrait Gallery from February 7th to May 27th 2013. Entitled Man Ray Portraits, the show will be the first major museum retrospective of the artist's photographic portraits, featuring more than 150 vintage prints from his career in the US and Paris that were taken between 1916 and 1968. It will provide an illustration of Ray's cutting-edge photographic techniques, including solarisation and early experiments with colour, which he used to depict subjects such as Lee Miller, Pablo Picasso and Catherine Deneuve. Full-price tickets to the show cost £14, with advance booking highly recommended, particularly during peak times such as Saturday and Sunday. Culture vultures who are planning to attend could find that The Montague on the Gardens Hotel's Pompeii at the British Museum package is ideal for them. It includes two tickets to the museum's Life and Death in Pompeii and Herculaneum exhibition, plus a complimentary English breakfast and an afternoon tea for two at the luxury London hotel.
