BP Portrait Award 2013 at the National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery's annual BP Portrait Award showcase will be held from June 20th to September 15th 2013.

Featuring 55 of the most outstanding and innovative new portraits from around the world, the exhibition features a diverse range of works, including informal images of personal friends and thought-provoking interpretations of famous faces.

Among the pieces on display will be the shortlisted works The Uncertain Time by John Devane and Pieter by Susanne du Toit, as well as contributions from BP Travel Award 2012 winner Carl Randall.

The BP Portrait Award show is being held at the gallery for the 34th time in 2013 and remains the world's most prestigious portrait painting competition.

Culture vultures can check out the showcase while enjoying a Pompeii at the British Museum package at The Montague on the Gardens Hotel.
