Category: Music & Theatre Dates: Wednesday, 27 November 2013 to Sunday, 05 January 2014 As far as ballets go, they don't get more festive than Swan Lake. This spectacular tale of a woman who is transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer makes its highly anticipated return to the West End on December 4th this year, and will be flying off again on January 26th. Long considered the theatrical equivalent of going to see Father Christmas, the accessible story and magnificent music has enthralled thousands. Under the capable directorship of ballet legend Matthew Bourne, the fairy story takes on an altogether more passionate and intense affair that has won awards around the globe. Swan Lake will be performed at Sadler's Wells theatre where it originally premiered in 1995 and became the longest running ballet in the West End. Its annual returns to the theatre are always around the festive season. Book into the nearby Montague on the Gardens Hotel for easy access to the theatre. With the Christmas Eve Cracker offer, you can be sure of having a festive time after the ballet, as well as during the performance.
