Enjoy a unique way to savour the essential English tradition of afternoon tea. Situated in London’s historic Bloomsbury, The Montague on the Gardens Hotel is hosting a series of enchanting Sunday Afternoon Tea Walks. Beginning in January 2014, these unique events provide a wonderful opportunity to learn about the history of afternoon tea combined with a walking tour of some of the most historically significant landmarks in literary and Georgian Bloomsbury, which forms part of the Bedford Estates. The tradition of afternoon tea was inaugurated by Anna, Duchess of Bedford in the 19th century. We at the Montague are delighted to continue to uphold the highest standards of this tradition to this very day in our beautiful conservatories, which overlook the Bedford Estate Gardens. Organised in conjunction with professional guides from Bloomsbury, the tour concludes with our award winning afternoon tea (UK Tea Guild Award for Excellence 2011-2013) and features an assortment of delicate finger sandwiches, scones, seasonal pastries and our selection of Twinings Tea.
Sunday Afternoon Tea Walks commence at 11.00am from outside the Montague on the Gardens Hotel. The tour of Bloomsbury will take approximately one hour and guests will then return to the Montague to enjoy our award winning Afternoon Tea menu, complete with a talk on the history of this most English of traditions in our beautiful conservatory.
Our Sunday Afternoon Tea walks are priced at £35 per person.
