Q. London is a city known for shopping. What are the city's best and most unusual museum shops?
A. Art lovers will love The National Gallery shop. Alongside umbrellas decorated with the works of Monet and van Gogh, there is a new high-tech printer here that allows you to select mountable reproductions of your favorite painting. Nearby, the National Portrait Gallery has candy lollipops adorned with Marilyn Monroe's face. The Victoria and Albert Museum sells artsy knick-knacks from leading contemporary designers and the Design Museum has Mondaine watches and designer coffee pots by the noted Aldo Rossi. If you are searching for kid-friendly gifts, the Science Museum is a worthy stop with its selection of mud clocks, telegraph transmitters and Albert Einstein action figures. More traditional things like teapots and packaged products can be found at the Bramah Tea and Coffee Museum. Our off beat favorite: the Freud Museum for their fluffy slippers emblazoned with the face of the father of psychoanalysis. Our wonderful concierges will happily direct you to each of these museums.
