Date: February 7th to April 27th 2008
People staying at luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens who have an interest in photography are sure to be interested in an upcoming exhibition at the Hayward Gallery.
From February 7th until April 27th 2008, Alexander Rodchenko: Revolution In Photography will be showing at the London gallery and those staying at luxury hotel the Montague will have a chance to learn more about "one of the great figures of early 20th-century avant-garde art".
Rodchenko began his career as a painter, sculptor and graphic artist before focusing on photography in the 1920s.
The exhibition will include roughly 120 original prints and photomontages taken by Rodchenko over a period of two decades.
It was during this period that the artist reportedly created a number of "classic works" of Russian photography.
His alternate camera angles and reduction in perspective provided close-up views of "surprising details" and helped make his name as a pioneer of bold camera work.
A mixture of social and political images of individual portraits, modern architecture, industry, mass demonstrations and more will be included in this impressive exhibition.
