This summer, guests staying at luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens can enjoy an offbeat festival in what will hopefully be sunny August weather.

The Shoreditch Festival will take place between August 16th until August 24th 2008 and this year's celebrations tie in with the Olympic games taking place in Beijing later this year and also the coming 2012 London Olympic games, as the theme is sports and arts.

One of the main events to be held as part of the extravaganza in 2008 will be a free music festival on Saturday August 16th in Shoreditch Park.

Those staying on family breaks at luxury hotel the Montague can visit the park to enjoy examples of recent musical triumphs and innovations.

Welcome to the World, the show's opening, will take place on Saturday August 16th with activities perfect for those on family breaks such as children's shows, tea dances, a dog show and sports tournaments.

On the Sunday, Tour de Shoreditch celebrates cycling through stalls, competitions, bike rides and even bike ballet.

Ballet comes to the forefront of the festival on Friday August 22nd courtesy of the English National Ballet and on the Saturday the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will offer an open-air Proms the park performance.
