Event: The Great British Beer Festival 2008
Dates: August 5th until August 9th 2008
The 31st Great British Beer Festival is due to take place at Earls Court in London this summer.
Claiming to be Britain's biggest beer festival, this spectacle includes a range of alcoholic beverages under the banner of "beer".
As well as real ales, those attending from nearby luxury hotel the Montague on the Gardens can sample ciders, perries and international beers.
Beer is clearly the focus however and a selection of 450 beers will be available during the course of the thirst-quenching festival from golden ales, bitters, stouts and fruit beers to international real lagers.
If you are not normally a beer drinker and are more partial to a glass of wine, the beverages are available in pint, half pint and third pint measures, so select your size according to your constitution and taste.
Designated drivers need not feel left out, with plenty of entertainment and pub food on offer.
Enjoy live music, traditional pub games, food and snacks. For those who take their beer tasting seriously, tutored beer tastings are held in the evenings.
