Event: Troilus and Cressida at the Barbican Theatre
Dates: May 22nd until June 14th 2008
As part of the Barbican Theatre's Bite08, guests staying in suites at luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens this spring can sample a taste of the famed Trojan War.
Troilus and Cressida will be playing from May 22nd until June 14th at the Barbican and promises to be an enjoyable evening out for theatre lovers.
A legend in western literature, the production by Cheek by Jowl takes its basis from Shakespeare's "scathing satire on glory, chivalry and doomed love".
Troilus and Cressida tells the story of the Greeks and Trojans at stalemate after seven years of fighting.
Described as at once terrifying and hilarious and also passionate, Troilus and Cressida is the only English language performance from Cheek by Jowl that is running in Britain this year.
Other theatre performances taking place at the Barbican this spring include In Spitting Distance by the Rukab Project and Boris Godunov, a Russian performance from Cheek By Jowl running from May 13th until May 17th 2008.
