The tale of a girl caught between her heart and her head will be told in the capital this winter when the three-act ballet Manon takes to the stage at the Coliseum.

Manon is a young girl who seeks love and companionship, but also wealth and security.

Her desires are put to the test when she meets and falls in love with Des Grieux, a handsome young student who satisfies her yearning for an affectionate man.

It would be simple if the pair could just sail off into the wild blue yonder but things are a little more complicated than that, as Manon is promised to an old, wealthy gentleman, while another man - Monsier GM - is also interested in her.

The girl and her handsome young lover elope, taking audiences on a journey of love, tragedy and deceit, set to a wonderful score which drives home the emotions felt by the couple.

After spending two hours and 40 minutes in the 18th century, visitors can return to the modern era with a suite at the luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens.
