A View from the Bridge at the Duke of York's Theatre

Event: A View from the Bridge
Date: January 22nd until September 5th

The Duke of York's Theatre will transport Londoners to 1950s New York when A View from the Bridge comes to the stage to tell the tale of Eddie and Beatrice.

A hard-working man, Eddie, an Italian-American immigrant, works at the docks in order to keep a roof over he and his wife's head and feels quite proud at his attempts to live the American dream.

His good nature sees him provide shelter for Beatrice's niece, Catherine, however, when his spouse's relatives, Rodolpho and Marco, arrive from Italy, they also stay at the house and from then on, trouble brews.

Eddie finds himself falling for Catherine and when he notices Rodolpho getting close to her, he becomes enraged.

He constantly belittles his love rival but when that fails, he informs the immigration authorities of the illegal aliens currently under his roof.

Eddie's jealousy and betrayal sees him lose respect and friendship from those around him and sets up the play for a dramatic finish.

Visitors from outside the capital will need somewhere to stay and the luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens would be a good choice.

The establishment's Get More From Your Stay package will provide guests with a bottle of champagne, traditional afternoon tea for two, tickets to the London Eye and a two-course pre-theatre dinner for two.
