Event: Suburbia
Date: October 15th until March 31st
The Suburbia exhibition at the London Transport Museum will explore how public transport has shaped our suburbs and the way we live our lives.
Through previously unseen posters, publicity materials, photographs and more, the showcase will examine the link between public transport and architecture, design and popular culture.
The gallery will explore how building styles have changed in London and the rest of Britain over the last 100 years and how they have come to define the suburban experience of today.
In addition, the exhibition will feature a display focused on early estate agent spin doctors and property advertising, while guests at the luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens can find out how the Tube stations got their names and see work from cartoonists of the day.
Visitors can then use public transport to make the short five-minute trip back to the hotel and take advantage of the Get More From Your Stay package.
Guests are offered a fabulous choice from a late checkout until 18:00 GMT, a bottle of chilled Champagne on arrival, traditional afternoon tea, a two-course table d'hote dinner for two and two tickets to an exhibition at the British Museum.
