Event: Twelfth Night
Visit: January 2nd
A celebration of ancient midwinter seasonal customs will be held near Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in January as part of Twelfth Night celebrations.
The collective of professional performers the Lions Part have announced plans for the 15th annual Twelfth Night performance, which will began on the Thames' bank-side and proceed to the historic George Inn in Southwark.
Guests staying at the Montague of Gardens, which is only 12 minutes by taxi to Southwark, have been advised to arrive at the opening of the procession at 2pm on January 3rd.
Featuring dancing, mulled wine, storytelling and spectacular costumes, the event will also crown a king and queen for the day chosen from the general public.
Guests of the luxury London hotel could also get two tickets for an exhibition at the British Museum if they purchase the Get More from your Stay package, which can only be obtained when residing for a minimum of two nights.
The George Inn is London's only surviving 17th century galleried coaching inn and was featured in Charles Dickens' Little Dorrit.
