Romeo and Juliet returns to Royal Opera House

Event: Romeo and Juliet at the Royal Opera House
Visit: January 12th to March 16th

The Royal Ballet's acclaimed production of William Shakespeare's story of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet will be returning to the Royal Opera House in January.

The internationally-renowned ballet company will begin its run of the English playwright's classic tale at the Covent Garden-based opera house from January 12th 2010 and ends on March 16th.

Guests of the luxury London hotel Montague of Gardens, which is only an eight minute taxi ride away from the venue, will not want to miss the event, described as one of the greatest examples of 20th century choreography.

Ticket prices range from £5 through to £97 for the three-hour production, which was first premiered in 1965 featuring the great classical ballet dancers Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev.

This reinterpretation of Romeo and Juliet has been made by Kenneth MacMillan and will feature a number of Royal Ballet's principle stars, including Tamara Rojo, Alina Cojocaru and Carlos Acosta.

Couples interested in making the most of their stay at the Montague on the Gardens should consider purchasing the hotel's Arts and Culture at the British Museum package, which will allow them to further explore London's cultural sights.
