What's hot in London this weekend?

The weather may have taken a turn for the worse over the last few days, but that does not mean people have to stay at home.

Music lovers keen to get out and about and explore the capital this weekend may be interested to note that two concerts are to be staged in London on Saturday and Sunday (July 24th and 25th).

A R Rahman, who is best known for his work on the score for the Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, will be appearing at The O2 and then Wembley Arena as part of a series of gigs he is currently engaged in.

The A R Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour was announced in March and the travelling musician has already performed in several major cities in the US, including Washington and Chicago.

Immediately before heading to London, the energetic entertainer is also set to play to an audience in Birmingham.

Meanwhile, those optimistic that weather conditions will improve may be among the people planning to head to a free two-day event commencing on Saturday and lasting for two days.

Between 12:00 and 18:00 BST, the Whitecross Street Party will be taking place at the heart of London's internationally-renowned art scene, showcasing some of the world's most creative artists.

Among those set to display their work are photo-realist twosome Best Ever, who are famed for their large piece in Notting Hill.

Another event that may appeal to youngsters and adults alike is the Boomerang Pets Party, which will be held in Regent's Park.

Taking place on Saturday, the celebration of all things animal is to open its doors at 12:00 BST and will last for five hours.

Those keen to get some tips on how to care for their creatures will be able to learn about grooming and feeding animals, while people seeking a more action-packed afternoon can try their hand at go-karting.

In addition, there will be an opportunity to see some clever dogs doing tricks and demonstrations.

Individuals staying at luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens will be able to make the most of the events in the capital and those who opt for the Get More From Your Stay package can choose from a range of additional goodies, including a pair of tickets to an exhibition at the British Museum, a bottle of Champagne on arrival or a barbeque meal for two.
