Onassis at the Novello Theatre

Event: Onassis at the Novello Theatre
Date: September 30th to October 12th 2011

The life of Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis will be brought to the stage next month when the biographical play Onassis gets underway at the Novello Theatre.

Perhaps best known for his marriage to Jacqueline Kennedy, widow of John F Kennedy, Onassis was a millionaire by the time he was 25 and had a controversial life, having been investigated by the FBI for fraud and run a successful whaling business.

According to the Novello, this play, which stars Robert Lindsay as Onassis, aims to examine "how those with great wealth and political influence live their lives detached from the moral code and realities of ordinary mortals".

Written by Martin Sherman, it is billed as "an extraordinary account of one man's voracious appetite for sex, money and power" and guests staying at luxury London hotel the Montague on the Gardens will be able to catch advance previews from September 30th, with the official opening night taking place on October 12th.

Guests who book the hotel's Get More From Your Stay package will be able to enjoy a two-course barbecue meal for two before heading to the theatre as their complimentary gift

Alternatively, there are the options of a bottle of chilled Champagne to enjoy on arrival, two tickets to a British Museum exhibition, or traditional afternoon tea for two on one day.ADNFCR-596-ID-800018273-ADNFCR
