The British Museum is presenting a major exhibition from 28 March – 29 September 2013 entitled Life and death in Pompeii and Herculaneum. It will be the first time the British Museum has ever focused on these two important cities and the cataclysmic events that engulfed them, bringing together over 250 fascinating objects, both recent discoveries and celebrated finds from earlier excavations. Many of these objects have never before been seen outside Italy. The exhibition will have a unique focus, looking at the Roman home and the people who lived in these ill-fated cities.
To help you make the most of this unique event we’ve created a special Pompeii and Herculaneum package. It includes one nights’ accommodation with breakfast and a pair of tickets to the exhibition (no queuing!). This means you can arrive at the museum nice and early (it’s barely five minutes’ walk from our front door), well fed and fully refreshed, ready to really do it justice. Then, when you’ve had your fill of ancient history, wander back to the hotel for a magnificent afternoon tea for two – you are sure to be in need of refreshment after travelling all the way back to AD 79!
