ART AND CULTURE AT THE BRITISH MUSEUM

Package is valid until 6th March 2011

Exhibitions you don’t want to miss.

The British Museum, founded in 1753, is the world’s first national public museum – and it has become increasingly popular.  Visitor numbers have grown from around 5,000 a year in the 18th century to nearly 6 million today!

As this world class attraction is on our doorstep, The Montague on the Gardens makes the perfect base from which to visit their spectacular exhibitions.  We’ve therefore put together a special package to help you make the most of these uniquely fascinating events.

  • Journey through the afterlife: The Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead (4th November 2010 - 6th March 2011). Explains how the ancient Book of the Dead was thought to guide the deceased through the dangers of the underworld, ultimately ensuring eternal life. The book is a compilation of spells, illustrated with depictions of the underworld. Objects include manuscripts on papyrus and linen, funerary figurines, amulets, jewellery, statues and coffins.

Our dedicated exhibition package includes:

  • Two nights accommodation in a beautifully appointed room
  • Full English breakfast daily
  • Two tickets to the exhibition of your choice
  • Traditional Afternoon Tea for two

Prices start from £171.48 per night (excl. VAT) based on two adults sharing a Classic Double room for two nights. This is subject to availability and terms and conditions apply.
