Guests can dine on a Best of British tasting menu which includes; devils and angels on horseback, potted shrimp, Scotch egg with homemade piccalilli, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, mini fish and chips, Balmoral smokie fishcake, Cumberland sausage and mash and prawn and crayfish cocktail. To compliment the tasting menu is a mini Pimm’s cocktail menu with 10 Pimm’s cocktails each with a unique twist on a favourite British summer drink. Try a refreshing Ginger Pimm’s, a punchy Southern Pimm’s Punch or a flirty Summer Passion Pimm’s.

To celebrate the numerous exciting events occurring in the capital this summer, the Best of British afternoon tea will feature a fun selection of pastries such as a Wimbledon pistachio cupcake, some Queen of tarts and Victoria sponge in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee and a nod to Ascot with a chocolate and praline top hat. Not forgetting of course a range of delicious savoury finger sandwiches and Kentish strawberries and cream.

No sunny summer evening would be complete without a barbecue and the ‘Secret Garden’ barbecue will have all the favourites including gourmet burgers, sticky baby spare ribs, seafood skewer, grilled tuna steak, corn on the cob with chilli salt, marinated halloumi cheese skewers and a crowd pleasing 14kg rosemary and garlic marinated suckling spit roast pig for group barbecues.

Winter Wonderland comes to the Montague on the Gardens in December

With the first snow-flurries of the winter season hitting Alpine villages across Europe, The Montague on the Gardens, Bloomsbury is bringing some of that white magic to London this December with the launch of its very own Winter Wonderland pop up bar ‘Montague Lodge’.

From 1st December, The Montague on the Gardens will transform its outdoor Wood Deck to resemble an Alpine ski lodge. Decorated with snow, pine trees, a ski rack to park your skis and twinkling Christmas fairy lights to create a magical Winter Wonderland tucked away in the heart of Bloomsbury. The ski lodge will be centred around a vodka bar which will offer guests a choice from the 12 Vodkas of Christmas. The Montague’s expert mixologists will masterfully blend festive flavours such as cranberry, candy cane, cinnamon and spiced apple to create the perfect après... without the ski.

Guests will also be able to enjoy the outdoor BBQ which proved so popular over the summer months, and which this winter will sizzle with bratwurst, mini turkey burgers and roasted chestnuts. Central London’s Best Barbeque fires up for National Barbeque Week at the Montague on the Gardens

The luxury four-star Montague on the Gardens in Bloomsbury marks the start of National Barbeque Week (30 May – 5 June) with the launch of its summer season of al fresco dining – bringing surely central London’s best barbeque to life.

The sizzling sounds and appetising aromas of rosemary and garlic roasted suckling pig, succulent grilled tuna steaks, sticky baby spare ribs, surf ‘n’ turf burgers and much more will fill the air as Chef gets the charcoal burning on the Montague’s outdoor decking. There will be plenty for vegetarians too, with marinated halloumi skewers, corn on the cob with chilli salt and Cajun spiced Portobello mushrooms just some of the dishes on the menu. All these can be washed down with a classic Pimm’s no 1, homemade lemonade (with an optional shot of limoncello) or traditional Iced Tea.

The Montague on the Gardens enjoys a unique position overlooking private gardens belonging to the Duke of Bedford, and the outdoor decking and adjacent cigar terrace allow guests to enjoy a rare oasis of calm in central London.

Cigar aficionados can now enjoy some of the finest cigars in the world at The Montague on the Gardens, the luxury four-star boutique hotel in Bloomsbury, with the introduction of two new tutored tasting evenings.

Led by Hunters and Frankau, importers and distributors of the finest cigars, guests will have the privilege of being showcased a vintage cigar from 1998, the Romeo Y Julieta Prince of Wales, on the dedicated cigar terrace.

On Wednesday 29th September 2010 and Wednesday 20th October 2010, Hunters and Frankau will host a tutored tasting evening, priced at £25 per person. Guests can enjoy a glass of Joseph Perrier Champagne as they journey through the fine art of cigar making, by an expert on the hotel’s cigar terrace.
