The Montague understand the importance of saving energy, we have a number of initiatives to ensure this.
With the decreasing supply of natural resources and are currently working towards being a single use plastic free hotel. We think it is important to to pay special attention to green initiative so we have created a calendar to remind us of all the important green events throughout the year and we encourage our guests to save energy when possible.
Our lightbulbs have all been changed over to energy efficient light bulbs.
Lost property that has been unclaimed after six months is taken to charity shops.
All guests are encouraged to leave towels in the bath if they would like them changed, otherwise they can be reused.
Guests are provided with a ‘Green Card’, should they wish for their sheets to be changed, the card can be placed on the bed. Without the card, the sheets are not changed, therefore saving energy.
We recycle all paper, cardboard, glass, printer cartridges & batteries, this includes making notepads from scrap paper and aiming to print less.
We are encouraged to use the web browser Ecosia, which plants trees with the revenue generated from advertisements. Find the website here.
We have now introduced our new Red Carnation biodegradable coffee cups, for anyone wanting to take away their coffee. And also biodegradable straws to reduce the amount of plastic used.
The guest rooms feature the fabric walls, which retains heat in and avoids the use of harmful paints.
We will now be recycling our candle wax, which will get remade into new candles.
